TERRON BROOKS: THE SOUL OF BROADWAY 3-20-25

The Soul of Broadway, starring Terron Brooks, will bring Broadway to audiences in a fresh new way as Brooks reinterprets favorite, classic, and contemporary Broadway songs. The show pulls back the curtain for a behind the scenes look at what it takes to live out impossible dreams.

Brooks is best known for portraying Eddie Kendricks in NBC’s Emmy Award winning mini-series, The Temptations, and star of Broadway’s Lion King as Simba, and Hairspray as Seaweed.

Not only did Mr. Brooks star in the hit romantic comedy All About You with Debbie Allen and Hamilton’s Renee Elise Goldsberry, he co-wrote its theme song as well as contributed his originals to the movie soundtrack, produced by American Idol’s Rickey Minor. He also stars in thePureFlix hit feature HavFaith with Gary Sturgis and Brooklyn Tankard.

Mr. Brooks has been featured on numerous film and TV soundtrack albums including Grammy winning Hairspray(New Line), Tears From The Sun(Sony), The Adventures of Brer Rabbit (Universal), and ABC’s Gepetto.

The Soul of Broadway will take you through a journey of love, loss, and a hope of a new tomorrow.

Celebrating 30 Years Of Memories And Milestones

Clover School District Auditorium first opened the doors to the public on November 10, 1994.  The very first event was A Salute to the Arts and featured performances by both Clover High and Junior High School Band and Chorus students.  A visual art exhibit was on display in the lobby greeting guests as they entered.

Grand Ole Opry comedian Jerry Clower was the first professional artist to appear on stage.  Since then the stage has welcomed Grammy Award winners George Winston, Kathy Mattea, Alison Brown, Mark O’Connor, The Kingston Trio, Jimmy Webb, and David Holt.

Concerts by The National Symphony Orchestra, The President’s Own Marine Band along with other military service bands and ensembles have graced the stage.

Celebrities like Queen Latifah, John Davidson, Jerry Clower, and Jerry Reed have also appeared here.   Dabo Swinney, Perry Tuttle, and Frank Reich are just a few of the sports personalities that have been on stage.

Comedies and dramas from the legendary Barter Theatre and Springer Opera House have been performed here.

And finally, there have been literally hundreds of local, state, regional, national and international artists performing for audiences of all ages.

But, the auditorium is just not a performance place.  It is also a learning place.  It is a laboratory for the science of acoustics, light, optics, and mechanics.  It is a classroom for public speaking, lectures, and debates.  It is a workshop for stage craft, acting, dancing, singing, playing an instrument, and performing.  It is a training facility for future stage hands, audio, lighting, and video operators designers, engineers, and technicians.  It is a learning office for facility management, box office sales, and event planning.

It is an extraordinary place where ordinary people join together to share in a common experience that hopefully makes ourselves and our world all the better.

Each year, the auditorium calendar fills with school events.  Then the doors open outward to community users.  Over a million people each year pass through these doors to see their child in a play, perform a solo in a concert, dance with their classmates, enjoy works of art, or receive an award or scholarship.  Others may take in a touring performance or attend a company meeting.

All have been given the opportunity to laugh, cry, dance, sing, and show their pride in family, friends, faith, and community because of the vision educational and community leaders had nearly twelve years prior to the first brick being placed!

CSDA proudly continues its mission to educate, enlighten, enrich, and entertain.  We are grateful to have been trusted with this in the past, and we are honored to continue it into the future.

NEW TRAFFIC PATTERNS AND PARKING ACCESS ON CAMPUS

TRAFFIC ALERT! NEW TRAFFIC PATTERNS AND PARKING AREA ACCESS ON CAMPUS

In an effort to alleviate congestion during school hours and to prepare for the 2026 conversion of the NGC to Roosevelt Middle School, CHS and NGC now have their own separate entrances and car rider lines.

CHS/CSDA Entry: The main entrance has been relocated to the former CHS Gym entrance. The slight left turn leading to the front of CSDA and the parking area remains.

An entrance has been added to the lower end of the parking area, enabling patrons to park, or to circle back around for dropping off and picking up passengers before exiting campus.

NGC Parking: Changes to traffic and parking at the ninth grade campus include new parking areas. A separate new entry is located between the NGC building and the game field.

The travel lane between CHS and NGC has been deleted and the two campuses are no longer connected. Patrons that prefer to park at the NGC will now have to use the new entry.
