Who are school social workers?
School social workers are district employees who provide services related to students' social and emotional adjustment to school. We are the link between home, school, and the community. We provide direct services to students, parents, and school personnel to promote academic and social success.
School social workers provide services to all students. Services can include working with the individual student or family as well as working with students and parents in groups. Other services include crisis intervention, consultation with school personnel, finding community resources for students and families, and establishing and facilitating prevention and intervention programs.
Who should contact the school social worker?
