Earlier this morning, Clover School District administration confirmed that power has been restored in all district buildings and in the majority of homes throughout the community, Clover School District will resume its normal operating schedule on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
A small portion of our families may still be without power. The transportation department has shared that if a student misses a bus on Tuesday due to power issues,, they can call 803-810-8190, and a bus will be sent back to assist.
We thank Duke Energy and York Electric for their tireless work to restore power throughout the district following Hurricane Helene's catastrophic impact on the power grid. Additionally, we want to thank our social workers and others who helped families this morning at Clover High School with food, water, and electricity.
Finally, we commend the food services department for their efforts to save as much of the district's food supplies as possible by moving products from the buildings without power to those with power. Their work minimized the amount of loss that would have otherwise taken place.
Have a good afternoon; we look forward to returning to a sense of normalcy on Tuesday. All schools and buildings will operate on a normal schedule.

CSD UPDATE:
Following the catastrophic impact of Hurricane Helene on the power grid in our community, Clover School District will be CLOSED on Monday, September 30, 2024.
This will be a full day off for all students and staff. Clover School District will use its listed bad weather make-up day on Monday, January 6, 2025, as a replacement day for Monday. This will be an eLearning Day for students.
Currently, several district buildings remain without power, including Bethel Elementary, Griggs Road Elementary, Larne Elementary Oakridge Elementary, Oakridge Middle, Blue Eagle Academy, and the District Office. Additionally, over 7,000 CSD families are without power in their homes.
CSD will continue to work with electric providers to assess the timeline for these outages and provide an update on the status for Tuesday as soon as it is available.
Thank you,
Clover School District

Clover School District has been closely monitoring the forecast around Hurricane Helene and the potential for severe weather in our area starting late Thursday and continuing into morning hours on Friday.
Currently, the forecasts suggest that we may experience high winds, heavy rain, and potential flooding that would impact the travel conditions for buses and automobiles. Available information from various sources, including the National Weather Service, show that wind speeds may exceed the state guidelines for safe bus operation.
Based on this information, Clover School District will transition to eLearning on Friday, September 27. All CSD buildings will be closed. Parents will receive direct information from their school on the details around the eLearning Day.
At this time, forecasts indicate that weather conditions will improve by late Friday afternoon. Therefore, scheduled homecoming events and athletics on Friday evening will continue as planned. However, any changes to the schedule will be communicated by individual schools as needed.

Oakridge Middle School's soccer team is demonstrating how "the little town with LOVE in the middle" is leaving a legacy around the world.
Last spring, the men's and women's teams conducted the "Battle of the Bird's Nest"--a Savannah Bananas-style take on a soccer match. The match featured rule changes, guest players and a halftime show. The event raised more than $2,000.
Those funds were used to purchase home and away soccer uniforms for children at an orphanage in Guaimaca, Honduras. The uniforms were delivered to the children just before the start of the new CSD school year.

CSD Students Hold Steady on State Assessments
Clover School District (CSD) students held steady and continue to outpace other students in the Palmetto State in their performance on state assessments in all subject areas, according to data released today by the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE).
CSD maintained its excellence, posting scores that ranked consistently in the top five in South Carolina on most tests at most grade levels.
“Our mission in the Clover School District is to empower each student for a successful, productive, and responsible future. The test scores demonstrate the commitment our School Board, faculty, staff, families, and students have made to this mission. We strive for excellence with each child, each day, as our students realize the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. As we focus on Rigorous, Empowering, and Authentic Learning through personalized and project-based lessons, we are on target and excited to see the continued gains our students will make," said Superintendent Dr. Sheila Quinn.

Parents who indicated that their children needed bus service when they registered their children for the 2024-2025 school year should have received emails earlier today with their children's bus route and schedule information. Parents were sent two emails--one with details for the morning route and a second with details of the afternoon route. Parents who did not receive these emails should contact their child's school.
