Students may read a Romance or a Black History Month title (civil war, slavery, civil rights, a biography about a famous African-American, etc.)

Library Lessons
Students will learn “netiquette,” rules and guidelines for online behavior.

Student Checkout
Classes will participate in “Whirlwind Checkout,” a 15-minute checkout time for each class to make-up for missed days due to weather and IGPs.

Black History Month --
Trivia Challenge
Each day in February a link will be placed in Canvas for the Trivia Challenge. The link leads to a form that includes a short video about a famous African-American. Students are asked a question about the video. All students who answer correctly are entered into a drawing for a prize.  

OTHER EVENTS

SC Junior Book Award --Voting Party
The SC Junior Book Award will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. To be eligible to vote, students must have read at least three of the twenty book nominees. honored at a librarian’s conference and is given a medal. See tab above for a list of the 2025 - 2026 nominees.

On February 12, 2026, OMS will compete against CMS at the Clover Academy for district champion!
