UPDATE: Registration for the Montessori Parent Information Sessions has now closed.
Clover School District’s Montessori Program will enter its ninth year in the fall of 2025. For those unfamiliar with the program, the district will host two parent meetings.
Griggs Road Elementary School is home to the district’s Montessori program, which hosts two classes of three-, four- and five-year-old students.
The Montessori method promotes classrooms that are made up of a mixed age group of students, therefore, forming communities in which the older children spontaneously share their knowledge with the younger ones. Montessori also enables children to explore a variety of materials with differing levels of difficulty and fosters leadership skills. Montessori represents a different approach to education that has successfully developed motivated and self-disciplined learners.
This year, Clover School District will host two virtual meetings.
Tuesday, February 4, 2025, virtually from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, February 13, 2025, virtually from 12:00 - 12:30 p.m.
To register for the program, parents must attend one of the two meetings. Parents can register for the parent information meetings via this link: PARENT INFORMATION MEETING. The program will be open to students throughout the entire district, not just those that live within the Griggs Road zone. The registration form and all required documentation must be submitted by Monday, February 24, 2025, by 3 p.m.
The district will hold a lottery on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, to select the students who will be eligible to enroll in the Montessori classes for the 2025-2026 school year.
Shortly following the lottery, families will be notified of their placement. Families who are not placed within the Montessori program will have the option to be added to a waiting list for any opening that may occur. Families who registered a pre-kindergarten aged child for the Montessori program who was not selected will have the option to be screened for the district’s pre-kindergarten program.

Clover School District will open on a one-hour delay, tomorrow, Thursday, January 23, 2025. While roads are relatively clear at this time, we believe the delay will improve visibility where any icy patches are concerned.
Start times for tomorrow will be as follows:
Elementary Schools–8:35 a.m.
Middle Schools–9:00 a.m.
High Schools–10:00 a.m.
We encourage all families to take necessary safety precautions when traveling to school tomorrow.

Due to frigid temperatures and worsening weather conditions especially on our side roads, all CSD schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22. CSD will conduct an E-Learning Day on Monday, February 17, to make up for tomorrow’s closure. Details about the E-Learning Day will be forthcoming, but please know that we are aware that families may have made plans for intercession. Stay safe and warm and enjoy your snow day.

Out of an abundance of caution, Clover School District (CSD) has canceled all afternoon and evening activities on our campuses beginning at 5 p.m. today. Our community is under a winter weather advisory from 4 p.m. today through 9 a.m. tomorrow.
CSD will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22. This delay will allow our staff to evaluate conditions in the morning to determine whether we can open safely or whether it will be necessary to cancel school and plan for an inclement weather make-up day on Monday, February 17.

Clover School District (CSD) will transition to asynchronous E-Learning on Friday, January 10, 2025, to ensure the safety of students and staff as Winter Storm Cora approaches our area. Parents will receive direct information from their school on the details around the eLearning Day.
An Asynchronous E-Learning Day means that students will not log on for live instruction from their teachers. Instead, students will complete assignments posted to Canvas (the district’s online learning management system) or provided in paper packets for our youngest learners. The asynchronous format provides families with the greatest flexibility in how and when their students complete the assignments because students are not required to be online at any specific time. Staff will be available for office hours between 8:00 am - 11:30 am should your child need support locating or completing the assignments .
Students have up to five days from Friday, January 10, to complete their work in order to be counted present for the missed day of school. All work should be completed and turned in by Friday, January 17, 2025.
All athletic events have been cancelled for both Friday, January 10, and Saturday, January 11. Details about when these events will be rescheduled will be shared shortly.

Earlier this morning, Clover School District administration confirmed that power has been restored in all district buildings and in the majority of homes throughout the community, Clover School District will resume its normal operating schedule on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
A small portion of our families may still be without power. The transportation department has shared that if a student misses a bus on Tuesday due to power issues,, they can call 803-810-8190, and a bus will be sent back to assist.
We thank Duke Energy and York Electric for their tireless work to restore power throughout the district following Hurricane Helene's catastrophic impact on the power grid. Additionally, we want to thank our social workers and others who helped families this morning at Clover High School with food, water, and electricity.
Finally, we commend the food services department for their efforts to save as much of the district's food supplies as possible by moving products from the buildings without power to those with power. Their work minimized the amount of loss that would have otherwise taken place.
Have a good afternoon; we look forward to returning to a sense of normalcy on Tuesday. All schools and buildings will operate on a normal schedule.

CSD UPDATE:
Following the catastrophic impact of Hurricane Helene on the power grid in our community, Clover School District will be CLOSED on Monday, September 30, 2024.
This will be a full day off for all students and staff. Clover School District will use its listed bad weather make-up day on Monday, January 6, 2025, as a replacement day for Monday. This will be an eLearning Day for students.
Currently, several district buildings remain without power, including Bethel Elementary, Griggs Road Elementary, Larne Elementary Oakridge Elementary, Oakridge Middle, Blue Eagle Academy, and the District Office. Additionally, over 7,000 CSD families are without power in their homes.
CSD will continue to work with electric providers to assess the timeline for these outages and provide an update on the status for Tuesday as soon as it is available.
Thank you,
Clover School District

Clover School District has been closely monitoring the forecast around Hurricane Helene and the potential for severe weather in our area starting late Thursday and continuing into morning hours on Friday.
Currently, the forecasts suggest that we may experience high winds, heavy rain, and potential flooding that would impact the travel conditions for buses and automobiles. Available information from various sources, including the National Weather Service, show that wind speeds may exceed the state guidelines for safe bus operation.
Based on this information, Clover School District will transition to eLearning on Friday, September 27. All CSD buildings will be closed. Parents will receive direct information from their school on the details around the eLearning Day.
At this time, forecasts indicate that weather conditions will improve by late Friday afternoon. Therefore, scheduled homecoming events and athletics on Friday evening will continue as planned. However, any changes to the schedule will be communicated by individual schools as needed.

"Nana!!!" Students at Larne Elementary showed their enthusiasm this morning as their grandparents arrived at the school for "Biscuits with Grands." The event is held annually in conjunction with Grandparents Day, which was observed yesterday. Response to "Biscuits with Grands" is so great that the school conducts the breakfast over two days to accommodate all the grandparents who wish to attend. A second breakfast for another group of students and their grandparents will be held tomorrow.

Parents who indicated that their children needed bus service when they registered their children for the 2024-2025 school year should have received emails earlier today with their children's bus route and schedule information. Parents were sent two emails--one with details for the morning route and a second with details of the afternoon route. Parents who did not receive these emails should contact their child's school.
