Summer School
There are two programs that offer summer classes for CHS students:
1) The Clover High School Summer School program will utilize Edmentum online curriculum for both Initial Credit and Credit Recovery courses. Students will complete online lessons, quizzes and tests. Cost are as follows:
INITIAL CREDIT - $100 per course, Reduced Lunch $50.00, Free Lunch – Free
CREDIT RECOVERY - $50 per course, Reduced Lunch $25, Free Lunch – Free
Credit Recovery students are required to attend in person in the Summer School computer lab, Room 154, Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - Noon or Noon - 4:00 PM, June 2 – June 26. All Credit Recovery coursework must be completed by Thursday, June 26.
Credit Recovery is available for English, Math, Science and Social Studies (final grade 50-59).
Initial Credit students work from home, but are able to come to the CHS main campus to receive help from the teacher during their office hours. Initial Credit students are required to take their final exam in person in the Summer School computer lab. Initial Credit students will begin Monday, June 2nd and have until Thursday, June 26 to complete their online coursework. Students must arrange a time to come on campus to complete their final exam by June 27
Initial Credit classes being offered through Edmentum this summer are: American Government, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Health, PE (rising 10-12 students), Fundamentals of Computing, Art Appreciation, or Music Appreciation. (Additional Initial Credit Opportunities available upon request.)
All initial credit students MUST attend an in-person orientation on Tuesday, May 20th in the CHS main campus cafeteria after school at 4:15pm. This orientation will introduce students to their teacher, the Edmentum course, the teacher’s expectations, and the teacher’s office hours. This orientation is mandatory. Students/parents who do not attend will be removed from the class and refunded their money.
If you are interested in attending summer school, please print, complete, and return the following FORM to your school counselor. You can also get the form from the guidance office.
Deadline to register for an Initial Credit Course is Tuesday, May 20th
Deadline to register for a Credit Recovery Course is Friday, May 30th
2) VirtualSC is a free program offered by the SC State Department of Education. It is completely online and students work from anywhere they have access to the internet. VirtualSC offers both Initial Credit and Credit Recovery courses. Enrollment opens May 19th and closes June 2nd. The classes begin Wednesday, June 4th, and conclude July 29th. Students must take the final exam on the CHS campus between July 31st- August 5th. Please see the attached flyer below for enrollment procedures.
