As the Room Parent, you will be asked by your teacher to organize classroom celebrations.

SignUpGenius.com is a free online event organization tool that allows you to provide detailed celebration information to your participants.  From food & beverage needs to game station volunteers, prizes & other supplies, you can list everything you need to make your celebration or event a success all on one easy-to-read page.  By listing everything on one site, everyone can see what's needed and sign-up as they're able. 

In the past, everyone used to send out blanket emails with parents responding on top of one another with the Room Parent deciphering who responded first and who would be bringing a particular item by having to send email after email.  With SignUpGenius.com, it's a one-stop deal.  The organizer creates the SignUp and emails it to the distribution list (ie, the class) and those who wish to sign up, do so; with all invitees able to see who is doing what and/or bringing which item.   The Room Parent can email everyone in the distribution, just those who have signed up, or only those who haven't signed up to send reminders and event updates.
