Our School

Kinard Elementary is committed to providing a positive educational program that supports students in developing the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Our students are encouraged to achieve academic excellence and personal growth through a variety of instructional practices that cater to their individual needs. We offer small-group interventions for math and reading, enrichment opportunities through the MTSS process, and support for gifted and talented students in grades three to five. We have also implemented one-to-one device technology for pre-kindergarten to fifth-grade students to increase their engagement in the general curriculum and equip them with the technical skills required in today's world.

Kinard Elementary offers leadership opportunities to its students through the Leader in Me framework, which is based on the fundamental skills outlined in Dr. Stephen Covey's literary work, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Through this, students can take on leadership roles in various clubs and community initiatives within and outside of school hours. The school also hosts regular events to involve parents in the school setting, with Title-I events providing additional instructional strategies and resources to support families. Kinard Elementary further engages with the community by organizing events that foster community relationships and outreach, such as the Veteran's Day celebrations, Grandparents Day, Leadership Day, and the Fine Arts Festival. The Parent Teacher Organization and School Improvement Council are actively involved in building strong school-to-community relationships, and partnerships with local businesses and civic organizations enhance the overall student experience.

We believe that standardized assessments are one of the many indicators of a healthy and thriving school. At Kinard, we are dedicated to continuous improvement by involving all stakeholders in the educational process. Our teachers strive every day to provide the highest quality instruction. Our coaches and interventionists work consistently to support student learning. Our support staff upholds the mission and beliefs of our school. The school administration offers resources and guidance to support student learning and growth. Our families and community are vital assets to the instructional process. Our goal is to provide meaningful educational experiences that shape our students' vision for future success.
