Clover School District and Upper Palmetto YMCA Open New CSD Community YMCA
The 71,400 square-foot facility is the most recent project from the 2014 bond referendum to reach completion. Other projects include, renovations to Clover’s Memorial Stadium and the completion of Oakridge Elementary School and a new building for Clover Middle School.
Additionally, renovations to convert the old Clover Middle School building into a Ninth Grade Academy is on schedule to be completed before the 2017-2018 school Year.
As part of the district’s partnership with the Upper Palmetto YMCA, the building will be staffed and run by the YMCA. The swimming facility will also allow all fourth-grade students within the Clover School District to take swim lessons as part of the physical education curriculum.
The Aquatic and Fitness Center features two indoor 25-yard pools, a gymnasium, fitness room, dedicated exercise space for group classes, racquetball courts, and an elevated walking track. Additionally, the facility features an outdoor 50-meter pool with an adjoining water park, complete with slides, and play equipment for all ages.
